Why Blogger?

I've managed websites on many platforms. ¶ 

Does my choice here mean I think Blogger is the best of all?

I do not. But it is a great tool for projects like this one.

There is no 'best'

Blogger is quick, lightweight, and free. I have used it for several local ballot-campaign and electoral websites

WordPress is excellent, open source, and so often the technology of choice for so many websites and bloggers.

There's a lot to like about Joomla and other platforms, too.

The idea of "best" is meaningless without the qualifier "for what?"

Match your tools to your task, just as you would match your communications projects to your audience, medium, and mission.
